The Sounding City Project is an attempt to fully utilize the 5G infrastructure of Tokyo, and to add another virtual layer of sound and music to the city of Nishi-Shinjuku. The mechanism is to connect the virtual sound space and the physical urban space over a 4-year plan with the virtual sound space becoming the hub to connect people and objects, people and events, people and people, objects and objects, as well as people and the city. It aims to build an infrastructure of a virtual sound space where services and events can bring diversity and vitality,
One of the inhouse creative boutiques of ADK, addict, is participating in the Nishi-Shinjuku Innovative Service Implementation Consortium with a venture started up by the Tokyo University of the Arts called coton. For the first year, the following projects were conducted: Sound Garden, a walk intertwining sound, body, and scenery; soundtope, an ecosystem of sound that resonates with “now” and “here;” Sounding Building, a forest of sound performed by the buildings; and Ku-kan Instrument, human letters of sound created by participants. These projects promoted the implementation of innovative technology services in the Nishi-Shinjuku area.
addict was in charge of developing the key visuals and logos, copy, websites, publicity and promotion, as well as providing advisory and support for experiential design and services.
