Commemorating the movie’s release,” STAND BY ME Doraemon 2,” a film produced for the 50th anniversary of the anime Doraemon, a tie-in was realized with the new-generation SoftBank content, 5G LAB “AR SQUARE.” By utilizing AR technology, the content allowed fans to enter the various scenes of the movie through their smartphones in their own homes and take commemorative photos with Doraemon and his friends. This contributed significantly to increasing new users of the 5G LAB. Even though it was challenging to set up the photo-shooting booth at the movie theaters due to the pandemic, this presented a new method for movie fans to enjoy photo-shooting through the use of technology.
